Our Approach
Four principles underpin our research and evaluation consulting and training packages.
Inclusion
“Nothing about us, without us”
We work with a diverse group of Associates who are all encouraged to bring their whole selves to any work that we deliver. The richness of our team allows us to take a nuanced perspective to our client meetings and ultimately results in more culturally-competent and well considered recommendations and solutions.
Our Associates are passionate about Equity, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and have developed an expertise in Stakeholder Management, Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) and Co-production, involving community representatives, service users, and service delivery partners.

Evidence
“Not everything that can be counted counts and not everything that counts can be counted.” – Albert Einstein
Our Associates have a background in academic and/or ethical market research and, evaluation and/or audit and are competent in collecting, analysing, publishing and using research evidence.
Equally, our experience in research also allows us to constructively critique available evidence, explore the potential impact of research and publication bias, question underlying assumptions and maintain an awareness of external factors such as the wider determinants of health.
We use all of these skills to support our clients throughout the research cycle, including during translation and dissemination.

Structure
“Out of clutter, find simplicity. From discord, find harmony. In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” ― Albert Einstein
Our Associates have expertise in programme and change management, including organisational change management for new, established and dynamic teams (such as research groups whose composition can change over the research cycle). We use a variety of tools to support clients and can create bespoke management systems and are building a reputation for breaking down the impossible and providing a structure for achieving high level goals.

Innovation through Reflection
Sankofa - go back and get it; to learn from the past - Twi translation
We are innovators at heart and believe that catalysing step-changes relies on being prepared to be think outside of the proverbial box while drawing on the vast knowledge and experience that already exists. We use the Akan, Ghanaian concept of ‘Sankofa’ to guide us. The literal translation of Sankofa (from Twi) means to “go back and get it; to learn from the past” the symbolism of Sankofa is to draw from previous experience and knowledge and use this to move forward and progress. We strive to empower our clients to adopt a culture of reflection to inform our collective efforts to address some of the most deep-rooted or ‘wicked’ societal challenges. In this way, we hope to facilitate collective and organisational and community growth.
